Treasure Island

This evening Joan and I attended our fourth play of the 2016 season, Treasure Island.

“Arrr-rrr-rrr.” Not the best effort of the season for the playhouse.

Cayuga College Nature Trail

Decided to visit the Cayuga College Trail to see if there were any dragonflies around. The overgrown condition of the ponds led to a disappointing venture.
1st Pond - Mallards swimming through algae scum
2nd Pond - Cattail infested
3rd Pond - Arrowhead infested

There were some interesting highlights:
Dirty sock above a wasp nest.
Deer grazing on the east side of the 1st pond.
Cedar Waxwing in a tree near the first pond.
Song Sparrow in a tree near the second pond.
Tulip Tree is flourishing.
Only successfully photographed dragonfly - Widow Skimmer.

Regardless of the outcome, always a great day for visiting this trail.

Due to the efforts of some enlightened politicians and activist citizen groups, Roger Lederer is optimistic about the survival of birds. However, according to Roger, humans need to partner up with these always on task creatures to make survival certain.

Sunflower Fields

View from the Parking Lot

After doing some errands in Syracuse this morning pulled into the parking lot of the Inn Between Restaurant in Camillus NY.

Took these photos of the Sunflower fields:
Article in the Syracuse Newspapers.

Amazing that these sunflowers are thriving after the summer heat in the area.

Week Thirty-Two - 20 To Go

A good summer beach read.  Engaging characters, incredible action and Jack Morgan survives ready for the next Private adventure. Plus a good travelogue for Rio.

Crazy For You

This evening Joan and I attended our third play of the 2016 season, Crazy For You.

Czerton Lim's stage design from the stage of Zangler's Broadway Theatre to Main Street, Deadrock, Nevada gave the actors a wonderful working space. Plus the stage of the Gaiety Theater added a magic to the Slap That Bass number.

The leads, Sam Lips and Katerina Papacostas, were sensational.
