As well as the romantic tension between cranky pants Carol Jordan and the cerebral Tony Hill. This novel is not as gruesome as some of Val McDermid's other books.
Håkan Nesser seems to delight in vague settings and in using a multitude of names. However, if the reader can get pass this folly, Håkan Nesser’s characters will make for a thrilling read.

Donna Leon's 25th Commissario Brunetti mystery once again finds Brunetti meandering through Venice while eating and drinking. While the conclusion might end with an improbable chance meeting, this enjoyable police procedural will not disappoint mystery readers.
