Week Twenty-Five - 27 To Go

AAA baseball never had it so good. John Feinstein has done his homework well. You do not have to be a huge baseball fan to enjoy this book.

Week Twenty-Four - 28 To Go

Carnal indeed. It took only 8 pages for Stone to be curious. Typical Stuart Woods - fast read, little substance, same cast of supporting characters.

Mary Poppins

This evening Joan and I attended our first play of the 2014 season, Mary Poppins. Entering the Merry-Go-Round playhouse we found ourselves in line behind George and Ann. Taking our seats we surveyed the crowd which was substantial. During the introduction a gentleman in the audience gave Ed Sayles a floral bouquet.

The highlights of this production for us were the dance numbers of Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious and Step in Time. The energy level of ensemble almost brought us out of our seats.
Mary Poppins (Elizabeth Earley) and Bert (Eric Coles)

Week Twenty-Three- 29 To Go

Jeffery Deaver is the best. Once again Deaver pushes the mystery genre envelope with Lincoln Rhyme. Looking forward the continuation of the subplot.

At 10:25 AM left 88 to make my annual trek to 63 formerly 77 to photograph the parade. Parked in the St. Alphonsus school parking lot. Walked over Lawton to South Lewis and then stood across from 63 formerly 77.
The Auburn High School Band was forming parallel with Hoffman Street.
The  dignitaries were busy greeting each other.

Week Twenty-Two- 30 To Go

The cockney accent dialogue of working class Dublin is humorous once you figure it out. Do yourself a favor and view the 1991 classic film, The Commitments. Then download the CD from iTunes and sit back and enjoy the people’s sound.
