I arose at 6AM. After shaving and showering went into Inlet. Took photos around town.

Returned to the B&B and walked the golf course. Birds - Chickadee, Robin, Blue Jay, Downy Woodpecker. Going back inside Bruce was in the kitchen. Joan was up.

Took some photos in the dining room with the iPad. Emailed two to Michael. Place has good Wi-Fi.

Hosts served breakfast. Large bowl of fresh fruit - blueberries, pineapple, strawberries, watermelon. Good hot coffee. Blueberry pancakes with sausage links served with genuine Adirondack maple syrup.

After a pleasant morning conversation with the O'Haras, we made our way to Blue Mt. Museum. Road construction along the way slowed our progress but did not impede it.

Road Trip - The Woods Inn

Arrived at the Adirondack Fairway Bed & Breakfast to find our host, Bruce and Margie O'Hara sitting on the porch having a Budweiser. His in a pilsner glass and hers in a koozie. They invited up on the porch and after Bruce got another chair he offered Joan a wine. While Margie went to get Joan a glass of Riesling, I got myself a Coke from our cooler. We made our introductions. Margie left for a meeting and Bruce had another beer.

Bruce helped us I with our luggage and show us our room. The only stipulation was you had to remove your shoes before entering the house. There were slippers provided for your convenience. We shunned the slippers. Joan wore her Birenstocks and I went with socks.

We freshen up and then went to The Woods Inn (O'Hara's suggestion) for dinner. Arriving at the Woods Inn and unable to find the entrance went around front and came in the back door. The hostess took our name and we went and sat on the porch and rocked away looking out over Fourth Lake for 10 minutes. The hostess then sat us on the enclosed porch.

Our waitress, Lily, brought us water and took our order. Joan had American Chicken Pot Pie. I ordered a corn/lobster soup and Sole filled with crab meat and lobster. Joan's pot pie has a nice crust and was served very hot. At first she had difficulty finding the chicken but once forking around it was there but perhaps not in abundance. The surprised on my platter was the vegetable of the day, honey julienne carrots. We both agreed the carrots were scrumptious.

After dinner we walked the grounds.

Returning to the B&B, Joan read a book. After reading for awhile I turned in while Joan stay and visited with our hosts joining them for a wine.

Fourth Lake

Bradley saw us off around 10 AM.  After banking in Camillus and shopping at Wal-Mart, we took the Thruway to Utica. Stopped at BJ's for gas.

For lunch we ordered a turkey with artichoke at Subway in Barneveld. We ate the
sandwich at the boat launch in Forestport.

Joan phoned Judy to see if she was home. She was. So we made our way to Indian Point. Arrived to find Judy home alone. She graciously accepted the mums we had brought for her, noting that the deer love them.

While chatting on the porch, Doc drove in. Doc suggested we go for a boat ride. We boarded the pontoon boat and proceeded to Inlet and back. Doc having just piloted for the home tour had his spiel down pat and he regaled us with his stories.

After thanking Doc and Judy for making our day. Around 5 PM we drove to Inlet by way of the South Shore Road.

Week Thirty-Four - 18 To Go

On the Town

This evening Joan and I attended our third play of the 2014 season, On The Town. Once in our seats we observed that the crowd that filled the playhouse was going to be appreciative one.

The highlights of this production for us were the "I Understand" fiance of of Clair De Loone Pitkin W. Bridgework (David Studwell) and the dipsomaniac vocal teacher (Rebecca Carr).

Facts:

• On the Town is based on the ballet Fancy Free by Jerome Robbins.
• The MGM film of On the Town opened on December 8, 9149, starring Gene Kelly and Frank Sinatra.
• The film replaced all but three of the original Broadway songs with Hollywood-written substitutes.
• A Broadway revival of On the Town is expected to open at the Lyric Theatre this fall, previewing on September 20 and officially opening on October 16, 2014.
