Road Trip - Lowville

Trumpet Vine - Blue Mt. Museum

Shane started his truck up at 6AM. We were wondering who was in our front yard at 88 Perrine. Once we became oriented we rest for another hour.

Stopped at the convenience store near Black River for the morning paper. Took road immediately to the left after the bridge. Brought us out on Rt. 12. Short distance to Pioneer Cafe on the right.

Lindsay, our waitress, was very professional. Diane, the owner, was in the kitchen cooking. Joan had a triple stack of French Toast with sausage. I had a Spinach and Feta omelet with homemade English muffin. Both were delicious and cooked to perfection.

Leaving the Pioneer Cafe asked the two ladies and gentleman in the booth behind us if they were following us. They were at the Pine Tree having dinner last evening. Recall at the Pine Tree they were discussing having spaghetti pie for dinner.

Our return to Camp Michael took 30 minutes.

Walked around Camp Michael. Talked with Joe Thurston and his dog, Lady. He said the Pioneer Cafe for closed for awhile - dispute between the owners, two sisters. Reopened this month.

We took a quick walk into Francis Lake. There were two loons way out on the lake.
They are there along the line between the dark and light water.

Returned to the convenience store near Memories and filled up with gas.

Clear sailing to Adams Center and Rt. 81, but once we reached Oneida Lake the rain was so heavy we had to pull over and wait it out.

Once home the answering machine had three messages from The Woods Inn. Since the telephone was down and the credit card machine was unable, Lily, our waitress, wrote down our credit card numbers but forgot to list the expiration date and code on the back. The Innkeeper phoned again and we settled up.

All in all a great road trip.
