Always ... Patsy Cline

On this unseasonably warm evening Joan and I attended our fifth play of the 2017 season, Always...Patsy Cline at the Preston H. Thomas Theatre in The Merry-Go-Round Playhouse. Based on the true story of Patsy’s friendship with Houston housewife Louise Seger, this story follows their pen-pal correspondence. The audience, which included a bus group from Buffalo NY was enthusiastic, especially when they applauded "Walkin' After Midnight" and "Crazy".

Jacqueline Petroccia, a seasoned performer of Always...Patsy Cline, did a spectacular job in the title role.

Sally Mayes as Louise Seger provided the humor for the play.

The crowd enjoyed Mayes' foray into the audience when she danced with an elderly gentleman. Her mention of radio station B104.7 (Syracuse's New Country) went flat, probably do to the majority of the audience was from out of town.

Week Thirty-Eight - 14 To Go

If you child needs monster management, this witty story is for you.

Week Thirty-Seven - 15 To Go

While some collaborations are interesting, some of the short stories left me wanting more. However, the familiar characters (Joe, Jack, Temperance, Virgil, and Regan) did held my interest.

Unfinished indeed. Jonathan Gould focuses on the times in which Redding lived, the world of James Brown, Little Richard and Sam Cooke. The Stax label, ’soul music’ and Otis Redding - synonymous.

Ghost - The Musical

On this Labor Day evening Joan and I attended our fourth play of the 2017 season, Ghost - The Musical at the Preston H. Thomas Theatre in The Merry-Go-Round Playhouse. The weather was most cooperative although it was wet when we left. Once in our seats we surveyed the crowd which was somewhat near capacity. The audience was enthusiastic.

After the play we had Panera take-out at home for dinner.

Borrowed the movie staring Patrick Swayze, Demi Moore, and Whoopi Goldberg from Seymour Library. Joan and I watched it one night about one week after the play.
