Week Nine - 43 to go

May contain too many subplots to please fans. But all of the bayou characters are present. Also, James Lee Burke’s imagery and eloquent passages make this a worthwhile read.

Week Eight - 44 to go

Chris Whipple has been making the TV rounds toting his book. The Gatekeepers is an easy, interesting read but might lack the depth some readers might have expected. While political junkies will enjoy this book, supporters of the President Trump will scream bias.

Week Seven - 45 to go

Being familiar with the Adirondacks and having a loved one revenged by dementia, approached this novel with optimism. However, Alison McGhee’s use of flashbacks and a spurting story line left me feeling pessimistic.

Cayuga College Nature Trail

Since the weather improved, visited the Cayuga College Trail.

The college has enclosed the entire nursery school playground with a fence. So when I attempted to start my walk using the entrance behind the nursery school I had to circumnavigate the fence boundary.

The going was somewhat difficult since the pathways were no tampled by foot traffic. As you can see in the trail leading to the wolf tree.
The journey however was worth the effort.
