On this unseasonably warm evening Joan and I attended our fifth play of the 2017 season, Always...Patsy Cline at the Preston H. Thomas Theatre in The Merry-Go-Round Playhouse. Based on the true story of Patsy’s friendship with Houston housewife
Louise Seger, this story follows their pen-pal
correspondence. The
audience, which included a bus group from Buffalo NY was enthusiastic, especially when they applauded "Walkin' After Midnight" and "Crazy".
Jacqueline Petroccia, a seasoned performer of Always...Patsy Cline, did a spectacular job in the title role.
Sally Mayes as Louise Seger provided the humor for the play.
The crowd enjoyed Mayes' foray into the audience when she danced with an elderly gentleman. Her mention of radio station B104.7 (Syracuse's New Country) went flat, probably do to the majority of the audience was from out of town.
