Birding - Cayuga College Trail

At 11 AM Paul Richardson left the gazebo and headed out on the Cayuga College Trail. This was Richardson's annual Spring end-of-the-term bird walk. There were seven birders including myself who participated in the trek.

A pair of Eastern Bluebird are nesting in a nest box just west of the gazebo.

The highlights of the hour walk were a Killdeer (flew overhead), a Great Crested Flycatcher (heard), a Hairy Woodpecker (in the newly cleared area by the 3rd pond), and the Catbird (pictured above).

Also seen on the trail were an Eastern Phoebe, a Song Sparrow, two American Goldfinch, a Tree Swallow, a House Wren, a Cardinal, two Mallards (in the 2nd pond), an Auburn Crow, and a Grackle.

 Another great day for birding.
