The Great New York State Fair 2014

The day started off 66˚ and sunny. So Joan and I decided to attend the Fair. Good choice. The ride over went well. Easy access to parking off 690 and the E-Z Pass line was quick. Because we parked in mid-morning we were close to Gate 3.

After checking our carry bag and purse we entered the fair grounds. For such a sunny day the crowd was easy to walk through.

Our first stop was the sand sculpture. This year's theme was Dr. Seuss.
Next up was the quilt display.
After having an apple dumpling, we entered the Butterfly House.
We walked around the flower display.
After having a King David gyro for lunch, we looked in on the rescued birds of prey.
Due to the rising temperature, we decided to leave the Fair. On our way to the car, we passed our favorite Dinosaur Rib Master, the living statutes, and the Stony Brook and Canton mascots.
Once again a great time at The Great New York State Fair.
