Cayuga College Nature Trail
Decided to visit the Cayuga College Trail to see if there were any dragonflies around. The overgrown condition of the ponds led to a disappointing venture.
Regardless of the outcome, always a great day for visiting this trail.
1st Pond - Mallards swimming through algae scum
2nd Pond - Cattail infested
3rd Pond - Arrowhead infested
There were some interesting highlights:
Dirty sock above a wasp nest.
Deer grazing on the east side of the 1st pond.
Cedar Waxwing in a tree near the first pond.
Song Sparrow in a tree near the second pond.
Tulip Tree is flourishing.
Only successfully photographed dragonfly - Widow Skimmer.
Regardless of the outcome, always a great day for visiting this trail.

The leads, Sam Lips and Katerina Papacostas, were sensational.
